ClassesThe Episcopal Day School offers classes for 2½, 3, 4, and 5-year olds during the months of September through May. We use the same cut-off date as public schools. A child must be 3, 4, or 5 before September 1st of the year (s)he is enrolled. Children in the 2½ -year old class must be two by June 1st. The 2½ -year old class is limited to twelve children. The 3-year old classes are limited to fourteen. Classes for 4 and 5-year old children are limited to sixteen. Each class has two teachers. Children of the Episcopal Day School are called "birds" and each age group is symbolized by a specific color. The 4 and 5-year olds are called Red Birds, the 3-year olds are Yellow Birds, and the 2½-year olds are Blue Birds. SchoolOur school day begins at 9:00a.m. and ends at 12:00 noon, with the exception of the 4-to-5-year-old kindergarten class which dismisses at 2:00p.m. We begin each day with chapel or "Big Church" at 9:15a.m. Following chapel, each class has instructional and activity time. Children have time on the playground each day. Music, finger-play, art and story time are also part of the school day. Special music and creative movement classes are provided each week. Several foreign languages are introduced by our diverse staff. The school library is an important part of our program, where children may check-out books on a weekly basis. Field trips and special programs are also provided throughout the year. An optional extended day program is offered for an additional charge. Early morning care is provided from 7:30 to 8:45a.m., and after school care is provided from 12:00 noon until 5:00p.m. The children bring their lunch, have active play, quiet time, and organized activities during afternoon extended care. EnrollmentAn application for admission should be completed and accompanied by the $75 non-refundable registration fee to apply for enrollment. Once a letter of acceptance is received, an advance payment of one month's tuition will be due within thirty days. This payment is your financial commitment to hold your child's space until school begins. Holy Trinity Episcopal Day School does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, color, national origin, or gender, in the administration of its educational programs or admissions policies. |
