Live with Uncertainty, Act With Conviction
Holy Trinity’s 2018 Richard Hooker Lecture

For many people, and indeed for the church, these are uncertain times. At best, people are anxious. At worst, people are terrified. The world is changing at warp speed and most of us are wondering what, if anything, we can or should do. In this Lenten retreat, we will focus on ways to tame our fear and walk in the world with confidence and conviction. We will learn, listen, and share during our time together. Please bring a journal or something to
write on.

Join us Friday, March 16 from 6pm –7:30 and Saturday, March 17 from 9:30- 4:30 for a Lenten retreat with Dr. Amy Montenez. Call or text (864) 723-0293 to RSVP. Please leave your name, number, how many people will attend, which days you plan to attend, and also whether you want to reserve a box lunch for Saturday. The lunches must be reserved in advance, and are $10 each. We will accept cash or checks made out to “Holy Trinity Episcopal” on Saturday, March 17.

Amy Sander Montanez, D.Min, has been a licensed professional counselor, licensed marriage and family therapist, coach, and spiritual director for thirty years. She has a private practice of holistic psychotherapy in Columbia, South Carolina where she specializes in working with clergy and seminarians, and is also well known for her helpful and compassionate work with couples. She has been on the faculty of several spiritual direction training programs, most recently at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary’s spiritual direction training program. One of her greatest joys in life is seeing people grow into their wisdom and strength, living out their God-given potential. This happens, she believes, at that juncture where one’s personal psychology and personal spirituality intersect.
