Prism Campaign
Q & A
|
What is it?
The Prism Campaign is Holy Trinity Episcopal Parish's capital campaign
to raise the funds to help pay for the purchase of the property next
door. As we raise funds to purchase land adjacent to our property,
we commit ourselves to a future of optimism and expanding ministry.
As is true in matters of faith, we cannot see all ends. But the potential
of this property is clear. It opens possibilities for the future.
Why PRISM?
The
campaign focuses on celebrating the myriad of ways in which we
participate in our parish
life together. The idea for the image
of a prism was inspired by a sermon by Father John Nieman on January
6, 2008. He used this as a metaphor to describe how we as a church
may be God's prism, His light shining through us, creating the many
colors of our various ministries. To read this sermon—and any
Father Nieman's other sermons—click here.
Is it happening now?
The campaign officially began Saturday, April 26, at with a kick-off
celebration here at Holy Trinity.
How can I help?
Gifts of every sort are essential to reach our challenge goal of
$1.5 million. You can make a pledge by attending one of the campaign
events currently being held (sign up in the narthex or by calling
the church office. Or you can call the church office to ask for a
pledge card to be mailed to you or to arrange for a visit by one
of the campaign leaders. Pledges cover a three-year period. However
you decide to help, thank you.
Why are there two campaign goals?
The $1.1 million campaign goal grew from analysis of a Feasibility
Study, which indicated that amount was a realistic goal for us. If,
however, we can raise an additional $.4 million, for a total of $1.5
million, we will drastically minimize the impact of our purchase
of the property on our outreach and operating expenses. So we are
calling this our Challenge Goal, requiring a little extra effort
and commitment now but with abundant benefits in the years to come.
