The Episcopal Day School is a ministry of Holy Trinity Episcopal Parish that prepares pre-primary children of the community for their future by loving and teaching them in a Christian environment.

The Episcopal Day School is offering classes for three- and four-year-old students for the 2020-2021 school year. The same cut-off birth date as South Carolina public schools is used, so a child must have turned three or four on or before September 1, 2020, for the class they is enrolled. During COVID-19 precautions, all classes will be limited to twelve children. Each class will have one Lead Teacher and share an Assistant Teacher between two classes. Children of the Episcopal Day School are called “birds,” and each age group is symbolized by a specific color. The four-year-olds are called Red Birds and the three-year-olds are Yellow Birds.

Our school day begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 noon. We begin each day with chapel at 9:15 a.m. Following chapel, each class has instructional and activity time. Children have time on the playground each day. Music, art and story time are also part of the school day. Special music, foreign language, and creative movement classes are provided weekly or bi-weekly depending on the number of days that a child attends. The school library is an important part of our program, where children may check-out books on a weekly basis. Field trips and special programs are also provided throughout the year. Our Extended Care program is offered to children enrolled in classes on the days that they are in attendance. Early Morning Care begins at 7:30 a.m. and After School Care is provided until 5:30 p.m.

The Episcopal Day School is a Peanut/Nut Free School. Students and/or staff member(s) at our school have severe food allergies to peanuts and/or tree nuts. We strive to provide a safe school environment for all the students and staff of the Day School, and therefore we require that school snacks and lunches do not contain any peanut or tree nut containing products.  We sincerely appreciate everyone’s support and understanding for this potentially life-threatening allergy.
