Holy Trinity plays a key role in helping people in Clemson and throughout upstate South Carolina.  Some of the organizations we support include:

Clemson Community Care

Clemson Community Care (CCC) was established in 1988 by ministers of various denominational churches in Clemson, Central, and Pendleton as a non-profit charitable corporation to serve the local community. The organization assists persons in difficult circumstances with necessities such as food, shelter and utilities, and helps them to become self-sufficient through educational programs and advocacy.

In addition to making financial contributions and donating food, members of Holy Trinity sit on the organization’s board of directors, transport food from donors to CCC and volunteer at CCC.

Family Promise

Together with local congregations, Family Promise of Pickens County brings shelter, meals, and support services to families without home.

In Pickens County we have 15 Host Churches and Support Churches. Holy Trinity Episcopal Church is a Host Church; our support church is University Lutheran Church. We host families at least 4 times a year. We can host 14 people at a time in our bedrooms which are downstairs in the Parish Hall.

Family Promise owns a trailer that each week transports the beds and the belonging of the families to the next host church. Families arrive at our church in the Family Promise van on Sunday afternoon around 5:30 PM and depart on Sunday the following week.

Volunteer opportunities for Host Church and Support Church congregations:

  • Unloading the beds from the trailer, set up the beds in the bedrooms, and make the beds before the families arrive in late afternoon on Sunday.
  • Doing the reverse: when the families depart, beds and family belongings are loaded on to the trailer for the next host church destination.
  • Doing laundry
  • Preparing easy delicious home cooked meals for our families
  • Providing fellowship
  • Spending the night (one man and one woman) with our families
  • Providing tutoring for the children if and when needed

St. Paul’s Thrift Shop

314 East Queen Street, Pendleton, SC
Hours of Operation: Mondays and Thursday, 10 AM – 3 PM; Third Saturday, 10 AM – 1 PM.

Historic St. Paul’s Church, often called the “mother church” of Holy Trinity and an integral part of parish life and community today, is also home to St. Paul’s Thrift Shop, an outreach ministry run by volunteers from the Parish. St. Paul’s accepts donations of used clothing, household goods, and more and then sells them for a modest price to raise money for local charities and to assist with the upkeep of Historic St. Paul’s Church.
